Mr perfect romantically proposes, you say yes! You gleefully tell family and friends, you proudly set the date, life is perfection… and then comes the wedding planning, the juggling of your money and time, having to plough through endless to do lists, rising above interfering friends and family and resisting the will to just ‘give up’ when your caterer casually cancels two weeks before the date.
Miraculously you kept on track, you kept your sanity and the day is set to be perfect! But what’s that? The niggling anxiety that surely something will go wrong, something will be forgotten, broken – disaster will strike! Never fear, we have a few answers to the most common worries and problems a bride faces.
Lets be honest, the only problem that cant be fixed and would make the whole day fall to pieces is the ‘no- show’ of one of the leading roles, your self or your partner!
Your beloved, he will show! – Of course he will, relax, he did ask you after all, and he hasn’t bolted during the chaotic planning of the day when maybe once or twice bridezilla threw a tantrum or two. He’s in for the ride and cannot wait to make you his other half
*It’s definitely recommend that you make it clear to the ‘best mate’ to not whisk the stags off too ‘pre-wedding’ at least a week before is safe, a hung-over groom, a groom in a jail cell or a groom in another country would not be wedding bliss!
Your bridesmaids – strong and in control, not a chance in hell that they are going to let anything spoil your day. Rely on them, delegate to them, they are your closest friends and you know you can trust there decision making. Let them deal with any problems that may occur, leaving yourself free to enjoy and experience your day.
* A recovery kit is a great idea to combat any little problems regarding unplanned predicaments, leave it in the hands of your most trusted bridesmaid (the most sensible out of the group, not the one most likely to have snook off with the best man) small enough to be kept in her bag, consisting of useful bits like nail varnish to combat chipped nails and ladders in stockings! Hairspray to keep your locks looking glamorous, a mini sewing kit to fix snags or tears, baby wipes to remove any marks and stains, makeup for beauty touch ups and perfume to keep you smelling wonderful.
Good company – you have a great group of friends, family you cant choose, but hopefully they will be equally as fantastic, they are here to help you celebrate, so Surround yourself with them and avoid those who are likely to be negative, profit from all of the details that you put into place during your planning. Mingle, re-connect with relatives, enjoy being newly wed, laugh at the best mans speech, be your parents pride and joy, enjoy your meal, drink your bubbly, dance at your party and enjoy the simple fact that all of your hard work has paid off, the day was a success.
Now what?-
The day after can be a strange feeling – it’s all over, no more planning – what on earth will you do with your time? well actually its not over yet, first your honeymoon, then your present opening and thank-you cards, your name changing forms, wedding albums…
